RuralHQ have an extensive collection of agricultural business profiles. However, it is solely at the advertiser’s discretion as to whether they want to have their profile listed. Therefore in some cases we may not have the business you are looking for as they have opted out of being listed.
If you know of a business that isn’t listed on RuralHQ, and you would like to request it, you can suggest a business by completing our Suggest a business form.
There may be many reasons for this unfortunately. The good news is that there are many ways to find what you need.
The first step is to review your keywords. Check that the spelling is correct, or try using fewer keywords.
Another way is to navigate using our category directory. All businesses profiles have to be listed under at least one category. We have made best efforts to group our categories into a structure that would make sense to you.
If you know the rough location of the business and a few details, then you could try using our explore page where listings are filter by your criteria and displayed on the map.
If you are looking for a specific business, they may not be registered with RuralHQ. If you think a business is missing, please let us know.
If you have any questions on our category structure, or would like to recommend a category please Contact Us and or submit a suggestion via the Suggestion Box and let us know your thoughts.
RuralHQ uses the MapBox and Google Maps applications.
You will need Javascript enabled on your browser in order to view the maps. This is managed differently on each system so check with your browser help menu to find the right way for your computer.
On all pages you can Expand or Shink the map. To change, simply select from the viewing options Small map or Large map on a search results page.
All of the business profiles shown on our maps are presented based on information stored by RuralHQ.
For directions to a listing’s location we redirect you to Google Maps. Click the ‘Get Directions’ link near the top of the listing profile.

If your business profile is already on RuralHQ and you didn’t add it, it usually means that it has been added by our system after we received a suggestion from the community. Your business profile should be claimable right from the business profile page. Navigate to your business profile, and you will find a ‘Claim’ button in the Quick Actions under the header image, and before the main body of the profile. Once you click ‘Claim’, you’ll be required to login to prove your identity, select a listing package for your listing, and complete the checkout process.
If the claim button doesn’t appear on your listing page, it is possible that the profile was added by someone else. In this case, you should message us through support and we will investigate your claim on the listing, and change ownership as appropriate.

No, a business can not see your contact details when you leave a review on their business profile page. They can see your display name, and that is it. The only way a business can contact you through the site is via a public comment on your review.
Once you submit your review it will go through a moderation process and be live within 48 hours. We’ll let you know by email when your review goes live.
You’re welcome to update or change your review at any time. While logged in to your RuralHQ account, just go back to the business profile and your review will be displayed in the ratings and reviews section.
Asking people to create an account is one of the ways that we make sure reviews on RuralHQ are genuine and help Kiwis searching for businesses. We may also need to contact someone who leaves a review if it needs to be adjusted for spelling, grammar or language.
Your privacy is very important to us and we won’t share your contact details with the business you are reviewing.
This is probably the question that we get asked most often and we agree that everyone using RuralHQ must be able to have confidence in the rating system.
